The model was developed based on a recurrent deep learning framework and the Transformer architecture, specifically designed to address the non-stationary characteristics of the spatiotemporal evolution of mesoscale eddies. The Pengpai Ocean R&D team trained the model using 60 million observational samples collected globally over a 25-year period, thereby solidifying its forecasting capabilities.
The model offers strong data compatibility and can be seamlessly integrated with various data sources, including CMEMS, AVISO altimeters, domestic satellites, high-resolution numerical forecast products, and reanalysis data. It is also fully compatible with domestic data systems, meeting the operational requirements of China’s marine services.
Civil Sector: In aquaculture, OceanX-Eddy helps farmers optimize farm layouts to increase yields and profitability; In marine forecasting and scientific research, OceanX-Eddy provides reliable eddy data forecasts and analysis, serving as a powerful tool for marine scientific research.
